Konstnärerna Inka & Niclas har under många år arbetat med ett gemensamt projekt i vilket de låter fånga och frysa ögonblick i fängslande natur. De har rest genom kalla, vintriga landskap i norr till hetta, palmer och paradisöar i söder. Med utgångspunkt i det fotografiska mediet har de förevigat sina stunder i natursköna landskap. Arbetet har emellertid inte handlat om att avbilda utan om att utforska själva upplevelsen och platsen genom olika uttryck och former. Genom uppfinningsrika metoder har de skapat en egen form av fotografi som inte bara förändrar bilden utan också transformerar den till skulpturala objekt och installationer i ovanliga ljus- och färgförhållanden. Upplevelsen är på en gång naturlig och onaturlig, oemotståndlig och lurig.
I utställningen ”G-type Main Sequence” visas verk som representerar denna värld som Inka och Niclas under åren har skapat. De beskriver sitt arbete som en process som handlar lika mycket om deras gemensamma liv och existentiella upplevelser som ett praktiskt arbete på plats. I gryning och skymning tar arbetet form, berättar de. I utställningen finns just solnedgångar som ett återkommande tema, såväl som ett brinnande klot som inbäddat i något som påminner om en skrynklig hög av kläder. Vidare genom skummande havsvågor som stänker i neongröna kaskader, hårförlängningar som svajar likt hav och kokospalmer dras vi med på en resa i föreställningar om paradiset. På ett lekfullt och prövande sätt utforskar det hur världen låter sig transformeras till drömmar och bildmässiga klichéer, lika oundvikliga som oemotståndliga.
Inka Lindergård f. 1985, Finland och Niclas Lindergård f. 1984 i Sverige har arbetat tillsammans sedan 2007. De är bland annat utbildade vid Nordens Fotoskola, Biskops Arnö, Sverige. De har ställt ut på gallerier, konsthallar och museer i Sverige och internationellt sedan 2007. For many years, artists Inka & Niclas have been working on a joint project in which they freeze moments in captivating natural settings. They have travelled from the cold, wintry landscapes of the north to the heat, palm trees, and paradise islands of the south. Using photography as their medium, they have seized moments in scenic landscapes. However, their work has not been about mere representation, but rather about exploring the experience and the place itself through various forms of expression. Through inventive methods, they have created their own form of photography that not only alters the image but also transforms it into sculptural objects and installations in unusual light and colour conditions. The experience is at once natural and unnatural, irresistible and elusive
The exhibition ”G-type Main Sequence” features works that represent the world Inka and Niclas have created over the years. They describe their work as a process that is as much about their shared life and existential experiences as it is about practical work on site. At dawn and dusk, the work takes shape, they say. Sunset scenes are a recurring theme in the exhibition, as is a burning globe nestled within what resembles a crumpled pile of clothes. Furthermore, through foaming ocean waves splashing in neon-green cascades, hair extensions swaying like the sea, and coconut palms, we are swept along on a journey through visions of paradise. In a playful and probing manner, it explores how the world allows itself to be transformed into dreams and visual clichés, as inevitable as they are irresistible.
Inka Lindergård, born in 1985 in Finland, and Niclas Lindergård, born in 1984 in Sweden, have been working together since 2007. Among other places, they studied at the Nordic School of Photography in Biskops Arnö, Sweden. They have exhibited at galleries and museums in Sweden and internationally since 2007.
